- The Supra uses a 16-bit slot. (So, you may have an 8-bit slot that
- will remain empty.) Its Plug and Play BIOS (which elminates the need
- for jumpers and dip switches) is better-suited to Win95.
-
- Win 3.x users have to run Supra's installation software, which
- temporarily occupies 4 megs of disk space. It adds a TSR to
- CONFIG.SYS. Many of us are accustomed to modems with factory settings
- of COM2 and IRQ3, and we usually use those default settings. So, using
- the Win3.x software didn't simplify installation for me. However, it
- was straightforward and painless.
-
- Fortunately, the modem works. Using "&F1" as my Trumpet initialization
- string, I've had no problem connecting to my ISP and transferring
- files.
-
- I don't perceive any difference in quality between the Supra and the
- USR Sportster 14.4 it replaced.
